Purpose

Eniola Sisters Enrichment and Mentoring Program strives to improve the lives of girls and empower girls to be their best selves. Eniola Sisters achieves this by providing community and after-school group mentoring sessions as well as one to one mentoring sessions. Eniola Sisters Enrichment and Mentoring program provides girls with the necessary skills, knowledge, and confidence to increase academic performance, improve self esteem and self concept, increase positive attitudes and behaviors in school, home and the community, develop and improve leadership and social skills, and increased ability to manage stress and self regulate. Eniola Sisters also encourages girls to move beyond stereotypical gender roles by exploring the disciplines of science and technology as well as encouraging girls to increase physical activity and participation in organized sports.

About the Founder

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, Chantele M. Scissum is a graduate of City Honors School (’01) and Canisius College (’05). Chantele received her BA in Psychology with a Minor in Child, Family, and Community Studies, as well as a Certification in Women’s Studies. Chantele has worked with numerous organizations in Buffalo, NY such as Women For Human Rights and Dignity, Project LEE Ministries, Project DESTINY, and BWHIC African Missions Team (’02). Chantele has a strong passion to guide young ladies into fulfilling their divine purpose and knowing their personal worth and roles as young ladies of distinction and class. Chantele also serves in several leadership roles at New Life World Harvest Restoration Center in Buffalo, NY. Chantele is the wife of Quentin L. Scissum and daughter of Pastors Melvin II and Pamela Taylor and Mr. & Mrs. Charles Thompson. Chantele is not lacking in the experience of being a sister as she is the sister of Melia, Ebony, Melvin III, Merryll, Candyce, Lindsey, Christian, Kharisma, Christopher, and Jayden.

ENIOLA:
(Pronounced E-nio-la) a Yoruba name, meaning:
person of wealth, honor, integrity, and prosperity.

The Mission of New Life is to restore, rebuild and revitalize the Buffalo urban community by creating and developing diversified programs that are specifically geared to meet the needs and improve the quality of life of the members of the community.
